Wanda's Story
I've always like to make friends. A lot of my friends call me the crowd pleaser!!! I try to make people happy, doesn't matter the age...as long as I can bring a smile to their face I'm happy!!! As a matter of fact when a fellow employee is upset they call me to handle the situation, it seems to balance out!! I come from Puerto Rico an island well known to have the happiest people in the world...look it up it was in a magazine and I totally agree!! We are also well known to have more holidays than anyone...that's because we like to celebrate anything & everything!!! I moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1977 because of my dads job. But I still made new friends and still keep in touch with the old ones too... amazingly even those wo went to school with me in kindergarden. As for pets well I'm an animal lover... I've had iguanas, exotic birds, cats, dogs, fish, turtles, squirrels, racoons.....yes, racoons. As a matter of fact when one of them bit me I went and got my rabies shot so they wouldn't kill him after all it wasn't his fault we were just playing!!! Now when it comes to sports, I'm still the sports girl!!! Love football, basketball & baseball. Like to play tennis & racketball. I go roller...Expand for more
blading once in a while with my girls and still go swimming doing my laps just like when I was in the team. Growing up I always thought I would be in Hollywood but instead I got in the medical field...weird!!! I'm still an Anesthesia Tech and loving it!!! But the most weirdest job I've ever had...working at the cemetery at night in the office by myself...and I remember some of the guys trying to scare me pretending there were ghost and dead people roaming the place... it was funny!!!! Overall I've lived a good life so far... a learning experience for sure. Just wish I could find the love of my life, the one to sweep me off my feet, one who's loyal, supportive and a best friend. But I can't seem to find that yet!! All I know is that I have all the love everyone desires...unconditional...the love from my kids!!! I consider myself very, very lucky to have them!!! I wouldn't change a thing if I had the opportunity because then I wouldn't have them and they are my life!!! I was very happy to see every one at the reunion and looking forward to more and keeping in touch with all of you, I'm so glad we had a good turn out it shows that our class is still strong & standing...GO BRAVES CLASS OF 1978!!!
