Warren's Story
After an unsuccessful two-year tour at Newark State and the draft breathing down my back, joined the Navy in '67 and stayed for almost 21 years. Got married for the wrooong reason, although a beautiful daughter and her sisters came out of it. Spent about a third of my career in Special Forces in Little Creek VA, made Chief and went to my first and only ship, the USS Mississippi. Saw action in the Med, Gulf if Sidra, and Middle-East. Was in Beirut about 6-months before the Marines got blown out.
I quit drinking after a miraculous recovery in a near-death car accident. The Good Lord wanted me to clean up my act after being saved following a massive cranial hematoma; been clean and sober almost thirty years now.
After picking up Senior-Chief Electronics Technician, finished at a most prestigious three-star command and got out in 1988.
My daughter's mother having canned me three years earlier, I came back to NJ and UCC in Cranford, then NJIT ...Expand for more
for a double-E. During Bush-41's recession, I almost went back in to participate in the Middle East again, but instead found the love of my life (a former Miss New Jersey Pageant finalist), and found civilian employment with a heavy-industry heat treatment company. Lasted almost ten years with Cooperheat/MQS until they downsized and relocated to both Canada and Mexico. Blank-it, I retired for good this time.
From Basking Ridge, we went to the Gulf Coast of Florida, then Broward Co., and now have been up here in SC, near Hilton Head Island. The winters are a little chilly up here and the Cocoa Beach/Patrick AFB area is looking attractive. My membership to this classmates thing expires 3 Oct 14 and not being a wrinkled face booker, I'm at wjbskii at gee mail dot com
