Warren's Story
I retired and currently live in The Villages, Fl.
When I graduated from Upland, I went to Chaffey College for two years and then transferred to the California State College at Long Beach. About 4 months after I graduated the draft board and I reached an understanding - they were going to draft me and I enlisted to do what I wanted to do. I went in the Army in 1972 and retired in 1993. During that time I was stationed several places in the US, Korea, Germany and the Persian Gulf. When I retired, I went to Law School. I don't practice, but it was something that I always wanted to do, besides I can always use it after I really retire. Ellen and I have been able to do some traveling and have discovered cruising - get on a ship, unpack and not have to do anything until its time to get off. So far we have been to Alaska, Agean Sea and Greek Islands (Italy, Santorini Island, Corfu,Mykonos, Myorca, Greece and Croatia), the Baltic Sea (Germany, Es...Expand for more
tonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and England) and the Carribean (Virgin Islands and St. Maartin). In 2011, Ellen and I went to Kenya and Tanzania and visited four National Parks. It was incredible. In April 2013, we took a ten day cruise in the south pacific - Tahiti, moorea, Bora Bora, and several other islands. Not as good as Africa. Well we did another cruise. We just got back from a 13 day cruise to Columbia, through the Panama Canal, Cost Rica and Mexico. It was a great trip for not having to do anything (we only stopped in 5 ports).. I thought that I would share this. Sadly, after almost 33 years of marriage, Ellen lost her battle with cancer on June 11, 2017. I am in the process of adjusting to the loss of my best friend.
I retired for good last February and sold the house in Atlanta in June. I have moved to The Villages in Florida (about 70 miles northeast of Tampa). Retirement is just like working, but a lot more fun.
