Warren's Story
Retired after 25 years with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, San Francisco District and the Southwest Import DIstrict, Nogales Arizona. Currently (and for many years) a Field Associate of the Department of Entomology, California Academy of Sciences. For the FDA, I worked for 10 years in the laboratory (analyzing food samples), 10 years as a Compliance officer (preparing regulatory actions) and served for many years on the national training cadre/course advisory group for the Law and Evidence Development portions of FDA's Law and Evidence Development course for new hires). Also had a role in promulgating the Nutrition Facts regulations (Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990) and several other interesting collateral tasks..
Now, in my retirement,, I'm involved in NSF-funded collaborative research on arachnids in the order Solifuga...Expand for more

Recently, I worked with the producers of "27 Dangerous Animals: Latin America" and "27 Dangerous Animals: Asia", so if you want to see what I look like these days (grayer and a bit more rotund), check those programs out on Netflix. I'm in Episode 4 of the Latin America program and five episodes of the Asia program..
In my spare time, I enjoy such activities as photography (I gave up trying to run a studio with everything else going on) and travel (I'm off to the Amazon later this month), and recently became engaged to a wonderful woman in Guatemala. .
