Life I can never unlive the marching and jazz bands, that time strengthened my endurance more than I realized. I graduated with bachelors' from Cal Poly, kellogg-voorhis *(pomona) an average student, escaping the vietnam draft thing, well insulated from everything. My visit to europe in '76 and '84 was part of an awakening, I expanded musically all along, adding flute to the tenor sax bag. Moved to sacramento, working with Davis' solar ambitions, and a missile contractor. Kept up a working jazz combo, playing the roadhouses that would take us. I was cajoled to Santa Cruz as my allergies would have nothing to do with valley pollution, and absorbed and craved the coast scene hence. I have never married, have no kids, but joined with one troubled hollywood waif there and migrated to mendocino. Built one of the first 'mountain bike' ever and tended (and bike-herded) sheep on a secluded 'ranch school' organic farm there. Ironically learning microcode and autocad at adult school in town.
