Warrene's Story

Aloha everyone. It was so nice to see many of you at our 30th reunion. It was a great time. It's been 30 years since most of us have heard from each other and so I guess I'll catch you up with my happenings. After high school I went on to Windward community college and studied Liberal Arts and Office procedures. I went on to Kapiolani Community College and majored in Office procedures and Food Service. I graduated with a degree in Food Service Management. I've worked in the Visitor Industry, in the food service industry, retail, banking, public school system and now for a private foundation. During that time I also got married and started a family. I now live in beautiful upcountry Waimea on the island of Hawaii. I have two adult sons and one grandson who is three, and is a bundle of joy. It really is true that being a grandparent is the best. I love it. I work for an awesome organization called Partners in Development Foundation and I am the Administrative Assistant for the Tutu and Me Traveling Preschool program here in Waimea. I am also an Ordained Pastor of a local church here and love serving the Lord each day. tice. He is currently one of Hawaii County's finest. A Police Officer here in Waimea. My younger son, Kaiponohea is a published author of a very unique childrens book named "The Fish and their gifts", which he wrote when he was in the 6th grade and was published in 2004 when he was a sophomore in high school. In 2005 his book won the coveted "Samuel Kamakau, Hawaii Book of the Year" Award. Can you tell I'm a proud Mama! He finished a second book and we hope to get it published real soon. He is currently studying and training to become a personal trainer and enjoys MMA. I have been through many ups and downs, many good and awesome times and many challenging times throughout these past 30 years, as I'm sure most of us have. I hope I can write a book about it someday. It could be a best seller with all the drama. But anyway, God is so good, so faithful, and blesses us through it all. We can be sure that He loves us and is on our side. We each need to always remember that each day is a gift from HIM, and that everyday holds a possibility of a miracle! Blessings & hugs! :) I always wanted to be a professional Ice Skater when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a cute idea. As it turns out, they were right.
