Wayne's Story
My life since high school, in as few words as possible.
I graduated from East at the end of 11th grade.
I worked full time at the Humane Society until entering MCC in Fire Protection Tech.
I graduated MCC and enlisted in the Air Force.
I married Stephanie in 1976.
When I left the Air Force, I worked at the U. of R until being hired by the Rochester Police Department.
Our 1st child, Matt was born in 1980.
Our 2nd, Becky came 3 years later.
I did well on the Police Department and was promoted 4 times.
I Finished a Criminal Justice degree and enrolled in Roberts Wesleyan for Organizational Management.
I left the R.P.D. in 2001 with the rank of Captain (were I had both Monroe and East High in my area of responsibility). I worked 5 years at St.John Fisher College. I left SJFC and went to Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning where I was a dispatcher, assistant warehouse manager and finally as a NYSERDA Energy Auditor.
I left there in 2012 and served as Operations Manager of P3 Systems, Inc. for 11 years, remarketing Cisco network hardware: routers, switches, access points, telephones, applied security appliances,...Expand for more
etc.
I "retired" in 2019, but recently answered the shortage for bus drivers and I am currently working for the Webster Central School District. I love the people and the kids.
Life is good. We're all healthy and in decent shape with our minds, bodies and spirits intact.
I love my wife of 47 years more now than ever. She has been my best friend and companion through life's journey and has helped raise 2 wonderful now adult children.
I lived a decent life...everything in moderation. I tried to stay in shape and to keep the stress down.
All in all, if I were to die tomorrow, I would have no regrets. I had a successful career which I chose to leave on my terms, been in a lengthy happy and stable marriage to one wife, raised two kids which I adore, had enough fun to maintain balance in my life, and now enjoy the company of my 2 grandchildren, one boy and one girl.
So what's next ?
De-stressing is definitely on the menu for the next XX # of years.
We have more than we need and are in the process of downsizing and lightning our load for the silver and golden years we hope are still coming.
Best wishes to all !
