Wayne's Story
Retired from the US Army in 1990 after 23 years service. Basic at Ft Ord, Ca - Double tour in Viet Nam - Ft Devens Massachusetts - Ft Huachuca, AZ - Ft Rucker, Al -Ft Belvoir , VA - Three years in Italy - back to Ft Rucker - Three years in Germany - Ft Hood , TX then retired. I have travelled to Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Greece, Belgium, Austria, Berlin (before the wall came down), Spain France, Luxemburg, Yugoslavia, Thailand and all around the US !! Living in Orange Park, Florida. Love to ride my Harley. Went to Washington D C on Memorial Day weekend for "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle rally. Also going to Sturgis next August. My lady and I have been traveling - Took the RV and Trailer with two Harleys to Belfast in June of 2014 - rode to Bar Harbor up to Mount View (new school building), Bangor, Rockland, Augusta, Bucksport for Crosby's diner - (yummy LOBSTER rolls and onion rings) and all around the area!! - went down to Key West this year and over to Panama City Beach last October - up to Hinesville Georgia for a week - out to Reno in August - Just having fun and travelling. Retired life is FANASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We usually make the motorcycle rallies - Daytona - Leesburg - Thunder Beach (Panama City Beach) - Rolling Thunder in DC - Myrtle Beach and several smaller rallies. Average about 12,000 miles a year on the Harley. Still going strong, although I lost most of the hair on my head - put on a little weight (about 15 lbs) from high school, but in good health.
Wanted to make 50 year reunion, but going to Reno for family gathering !!!!! Can't fit both trips in this year. Hope you all have a great gathering and have some fun - life is too short to not be having fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a great time in Reno this year. Just booked our reservation to Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally Panama City for Oct 19-23. Taking the RV and both Harleys - always a fun Rally and lots of seafood !!!!!!
Just bought a new place on a canal off Dunn's Creek which is off the St John's river here in Florida - just a weekend getaway on the water. Probably will downsize and retire there in a couple years when My Lady retires.
Well we moved sooner than expected - sold the big house and down sized to the canal property - so much quieter and less hassle - Satsuma is a one light little town - more my style of living - reminds me of living in Maine without the SNOW !!!!!!!!!!
Just got back form Reno - another family reunion - lots of fun !!!!!!!!! Getting ready for motorcycle rally in Panama City, Florida
Sold the old RV and Bought a much newer RV to travel the country - looking forward to seeing this amazing country..
Had to have prostate surgery because of cancer - but 3 blood tests and 9 months clean, so all is good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now been two years and no cancer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So beat kidney ca...Expand for more

AND My Lady & I are getting married on Jan2, 2020 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been engaged for 8 years, so we decided to make us legal !
She retires on Jan 10 and we are going to Key West for a week !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---
Had fun in the Keys - now in Daytona for Bike week. Then in July / August going to Oregon then to Reno in the RV for a 5 week road trip !!!!!!! Having fun !!!!!!
This summer - going to take RV to Oregon to visit wife's brothers and meet her Mom & sister in Reno - plan on visiting for a couple months - Long road trip - Lots of FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drove the RV from Florida, thru Ga, Tn, Ky, Il, Mo, Ne, Wy, Ut, Nv, to Or, came back thru Ca, Nv, Ut, Wy, Ne, Mo, Il, Ky, Tn, Ga, to Florida - left in May 2021 got back July 2021 Over 7,000 miles round trip - got to see lots of different county and eat in lots of different places - Fun trip to see family and even went to Reno for a few days !!!!!!!!! Road trip wound up being 10 weeks instead of 5 weeks!!!!! Life is good!!!!!!!!!!
June 2022, had to have a hernia operation last month at Mayo clinic - operation went well and I was playing golf a week later. Life is too short to lay around. Fun is name of the game!!!!
Went to Panama City Beach for motorcycle rally "Thunder Beach", then we went to Key West for a week - having fun till I got kidney stones.
Back to Mayo for kidney stones removal - getting old sucks, but happy to be alive and having fun most of the time. We are so blessed to be where we are in life and still be active and enjoying life. Turn 75 in a couple months - life is good.
Have brother-in-law visiting from Oregon - went to the Keys again and playing lots of golf - having fun. Birthday in a few days - big 75. been around the world, seen lots of things and still want to travel and see & experience more!!!!! Life is short.
July 10th, 2023 - coming back to Maine for a week - staying at campsite in Ellsworth. Drove the Rv with Bike trailer and 2 Harleys up to Washington DC - then to visit friend in Susquehanna, Pa - to Ellsworth - took 4 days driving.
Had a great time at Patton Pond Campground in Ellsworth - rode the coast down to Rockland and up to Bar Harbor on the Harleys. Ate at Crosby's in Bucksport and Youngs Lobster pound in Belfast - brought back 16 one and 3/4-pound lobsters. Had a lunch at Dockside in Belfast. Took 4 days to come back home. Having fun!!!!!!!!
Coming back to Maine again in July 2024 for two weeks - coming in RV and trailer with the Harley's - going to play golf in Brooks at Hilltop and maybe go see Mr. Brown at Clinton golf course. Looking forward to Lobster and clams and more Lobster. Going to stay at Patton Pond again. Life is good and we are having fun!!!!
