Wayne's Story
When I left Castlemont, I went to Cal Poly (SLO) for 2 years and improved my study habits. Then I finished my undergraduate degree in Political Science/Economics (PEIS) at UC Berkeley. I then completed law school at UC Hastings Law School. I have been practicing law, mostly in Oakland, since 1983. I have four children, one with a son and a Master's in Nursing, one who completed her BS in Business next semester, another to complete his BS in Kinesiology next year, and my youngest is trying to produce music, He has two daughters. I devoted years as a coach in high school wrestling, in the late 1980s at Castlemont as a volunteer coach, and then in then from 1989-1992 as the head coach of Oakland High. I also coached my sons in freestyle wrestling. For recreation, I do Afro / Latin style dancing. I am a world traveler, visiting such places as Cuba, Paris, Spain, Egypt, Morocco, Brazil, The Netherlands, The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Acapulco (Mex.), Australia, Argentina, Canada, and Japan. I'd like to visit Sub-Saharan Africa, Russia, and China. My interests are varied and I devote much time to collecting oldies records and movies. I love discovering African and African-American historical data and contributions to the world. I also enjoy freestyle writing.
