Wayne's Story
Life
I recently (December 30, 2005) retired from Burbank as a manager at their power plants. A decent amount for any state except California, so I am still working for a couple of more years, and still collecting my retirement pay.
I continue to compete in Masters swimming, both as a swimmer and as a certified Level 5 coach. I have been All-American several times and even National Champion. I am Chairman of the 3,300 member Southern Pacific Masters organization and have sat on the Board of Directors for the national organization. I also started and maintain the local association web site.
I enjoy writing technical articles, these have been published in every important swim related magazines and journals. I have been asked and presented power point presentations to the World Swimming Clinic with the best Olympic coaches present, and at the Emerson Exchange with 1,500 engineers present. I am a member of two car clubs, Mercedes Benz Club of American and Rolls Royce / Bentley of America. I keep my tools busy maintaining my classic Mercedes Benz and maintain a web site devoted to this factory hot. I keep my Bentley Turbo R shined and ready to go to Vegas at any time. I have built nearly a hundred desktop computers and continue to stay current on computer technology. I am writing this on a $500 laptop that out performs models costing $2000 by installing the fastest 7200 rpm hard drive and an additional gigabyte of memory. I utilize PDAs for nearly everything a laptop can perform, including portable navigation.
I also collect unique antique wrist watches which I polish, maintain and wear.
I have four grown children, and now three granddaughters and one grandson. Two more grandsons on the way.
