Wendy's Story
Well life has changed quit dramatically since December 28 when I lost my father through the fault of Arlington Hospital. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (blood cancer) January 28th see say I have been through hell is an understatement it of course is a cancer without cure. BUT if you are in the right age group and health group you can get stem cell transplant, for me it takes two I will be getting stem cells from my self first then in March my brother Tony is a perfect match thank God I will get a second transplant. They are looking happy saying could be not just remission but a cure. I have five grandchildren and I am a tough woman who will not take this sitting down. I have been through 14 radiation and 8 month chemo now on new chemo. But as ...Expand for more
of November 18th will start the new transplant the most chemo and radiation you can get while is when you have transplant will be sick girl. soo.. November 17, my kids and grandkids will be shaving my head so I won't be alone when it falls out and also my grandchildren will not be scared. I am scared but strong and full of faith. would love to hear from anyone. I will be staying at the pete gross house in Seattle until August as I am high risk. Parts of questions asked in q & a I will explain I am a funeral director for my own people and I end up dressing all woman and children so I help people for a living and I make them pretty. I have a great life other than this and am a total grandma... raising 4 more kids that are not mine. 14,12,12,11 yikes
