Wendy's Story
Life
Ahhhh...life. So many lessons, so little time. I have been married twice, lived in country and out, in state and out, have 1 child, upsized, downsized (house and body), learned a lot but very slowly. In the end, I am right back where I began...single and living in Cleveland. If you are ever in town, look me up. Even if we weren't friends then, I bet we would be now. After all, no one else comes from the exact same place and time as we do.
College
Some of you may actually remember that I never really liked school very much, but I loved the social side of it. Nonetheless, it seems like I have spent half a lifetime studying. I left highschool and went to the U. of Wisconsin where I bombed out in math and switch...Expand for more
ed to Psychology. Minored in special education. Then I got married, left the country and eventually returned to find I was seriously unemployable. I went back to school and got my MBA in accounting and finance, determined not to finish without a saleable skill. Nevermind that accounting is a bore. I ended up getting a job as a programmer (go figure). While working for the phone company, I took courses in creative writing and newspaper reporting, directions I should have headed in the first place. I eventually left the phone company, drifted around a bit and ended up teaching English as a Second Language to adult immigrants. Guess what??? I am back in school studying for a Masters in Ed. And I still don't enjoy school.
