Wendy's Story
In 1987, my plan was to enter the Air Force and see the world. A Navy recruiter convinced me there was a better way to go, so I signed up. While delayed enlisted and waiting for my school to open, I traveled to Sunny Florida to spend some time on the beach before boot camp. Little did I know, I would meet the man of my dreams. I decided getting married and starting a family was much better than joining the military, especially with Desert Storm brewing. So, I stayed in Florida, got married, went to college, graduated with my Bachelor¿s in Psychology and gave birth to two beautiful children, Amber Starr and Quinton Madison Weiss. It was the picture perfect life I always wished I¿d had as a child. elor, helping children and their families through abuse and neglect situations, of which I was very well versed both personally and professionally. I had arrived! I had what I thought was a wonderful marriage, a great job, two beautiful children, a home in Florida and a home in Maine. Life was great! Until . . .my husband left me for a stripper (no, I don¿t think that song is funny). So, I am now divorced, starting over with a teenager and a pre-teen. Ugh! Never count your chickens before they hatch, people!! Seriously, though, it was the best thing that ever happened . . .God has a way of working things out better than you could have ever planned. I have gone back to school for my Masters¿, selling my house and moving back up North (it¿s waaay too hot here, and no snow!!) I may be 38, but I am just starting to live. Life is funny that way . . .
