Doug's Story
Life
Well, now that I'm 40, I have to admit that I've gotten a lot farther in some things than I have in others. I have lived in Virginia (28 years in August) than I did anywhere else.
Although I'm not yet married, I still consider myself happy and successful.
School
After graduation, I attended George Mason University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English writing degree. Jobs in my chosen field were scarce at the time, so I decided to continue my education and earned a degree in English education for 8th to 12th grades ...Expand for more
in 1992 and earned my Masters of Education degree a year later.
Finally, in 1995, I earned a degree that enabled me to teach English as a Second Language students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
I spent almost ten years working as a substitute teacher in county school system before finally having the chance to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to students in middle school. I can say that I have now been teaching for eight years and although there have been some rough years, I don't think that I would change my job.
