Life A year after graduation John Shoftstall thought it would be a good idea for me to go to collage. He picked me up at my work, took me to UCD where I enrolled. I only wish I would have felt it was as important. I jump into this thing called "LIFE" head first. I moved out and moved into relationship with my son's mom before I was 20. Worked as a mover for 3 years, a year longer than the relationship lasted. The guys I was working with,well at least the old- er ones,looked pretty rough for wear and the fact that this was considered unskilled labor bothered me. That is when I became a cabinet-maker appren- ice. Which was a four-year program with night school and on the job training. Over 16 years lat- er and much to my amazement I'm still in the trade. I've worked at Design Fabricators for the last 3-1/2years where I've moved into a machine lead position. Of couse work isn't the only thing going on contrary to management's belief.
