Jeffrey's Story
I like to tell people I was born in the State of Confusion, grew up in the State of Denial and was kicked out of the State of Bliss by my ex-wife...but that only tells part of the story.
After high school I made the grandeose journey to a higher educational entity...okay, I lie...I stayed in Modesto and went to MJC. For 7 years I took courses at this fine two year school. You could say I wasn't quite focused on a goal yet.
In 1990, I found a goal and a fine woman. I married the woman and the life we had together changed the goal. She decided, for various reasons, to go a different way in life 8 years later.
I spent the years after working professionally as a salesman and then as a loan officer, watching the San Francisco Giants frustrate many, and playing with my two beautiful child...Expand for more
ren. The children--one caring and one smart ass(like me)--both intelligent and wonderful young ladies.
By 2006, I was tired of the way life was going and decided to end it all....no, not in that way...I decided to give up everything and go back to college with the intention of FINALLY completing my degree. I was accepted back and began refresher classes at MJC in Jan 2007. I was then accepted to UC Merced in the fall of 2007. It is here where I am taking courses towards my Spring 2009 BA in History and then it is on to Grad School.
I hope to begin assisstant teaching this fall(08) and becoming a paid history lecturer(the first rung in the Professor job chain) as soon as my Grad Candicacy is begun (~2years from now). As soon as my book is ready and accepted, I will be a PhD in History.
