Hi everybody. In 1971 I married another Fightin' Booker (Class of 1967) Ronald Whitten. We've been very happily married for 52 years. He's my best friend and he's a great husband and father. I know how truly blessed I am. God has been good to us and we know it. I retired in April 2005 from the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority after 35 years of service(whew!). I loved my job and I'm loving retirement even more. Ronald served in the U.S. Navy actively for 4 years and was in the reserves for 20 more years. He was employed at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for 42 years and he loved his job as a microbiologist. In January 2015, he reduced his hours to semi-retired and retired completely in 2020. We have 3 children, Tony who lives in Silver Spring, Md and works at NIH as an IT specialist; Rickita who lives in Chesapeake teaches at Richard Bowling Elementary School in Norfolk, and Ronnie, Jr. who served 3 years in the U. S. Air Force and lives in Virginia Beach. He worked for Staples Business Interiors for about 10 years and is now employed at Cox Communications. He married Jessic...Expand for more
