Wiletta's Story
I remember so many names and people from the class of 68, unfortunately I actually graduated from San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, where my mom moved my sister and I to during my junior year. Since graduation I married Mike Godsey in 1969 and we were together for 22 years and have one son, Cory. When he died in an automobile accident I left Riverside, CA. and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ, which proved to be a much safer place to raise a child alone.
I have had fun growing up (still working at that one) and my careers have been many. For over 15 years I was an administrative and legal secretary for both private attorneys and Legal Aid. I decided that I was tired of the legal field and obtained my nursing degree. That proved to be a wonderful change as I worked first in ICU at St. Bernadine's Hospital in San Bernardino and later in the neonatal unit at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Although I remarried in AZ, I am apparently too stubborn and bossy still, so that is on the fritz.
I enjoy camping, "long walks...Expand for more
along the beach" (who doesn't), rode ATCs for many years (or more like fell off them until I hurt my knee), tried my hand at being a Riverside County Deputy Sheriff but did not like being assigned to the jail until I finally found something I enjoy working at...I am a clinical research coordinator, which means I get to help our local AZ physicians to do the drug trials with pharmaceutical companies that result in the little "may cause headache" warnings on the labels.
I am one of the lucky mothers who enjoys a great relationship with my son (now an EMT) and his girlfriend and their 3 ferrets, still have weird pets in addition to the usual cats and dog (pet mouse-3 yrs old; various lizards and currently a tarantula named Bob).
Love visiting CA and the beach area, and very special friend, every chance I can, especially since summers here are an average temp of 113°, but winters are rarely below 70°.
Even with the heartache though I have had a good time, and hope growing older will continue to see love and friends throughout.
