Will's Story
The day after graduation I left for boot camp in the U.S.Navy. I was assigned to the Uss Canberra , cag-2, a heavy guided missle cruiser. My first cruse was an “around the world cruse “ in 1960. We sailed to Cuba, through the Panama Canal, and then onto California, Hawaii, Australia, Guam, Japan, Hong Kong, Aden, India, Packistan, Greece, Turkey, Italy, the Rome Olymics, Spain, Sardinia, Sicily, France. s spent in Japan, China, Germany and Israel. I made 65 trips to Japan. I am now happily married to the former Teresa Okuda. We have two children both of which I am especially proud. Our son Morgan has a PhD degree in Biochemistry and our daughter, Brie, has a masters degree in Hospital Administration.
I have been fortunate in my life to have had a rewarding career that allowed me to travel the world, a devoted wife and children. I cannot think of more that would have added to my happiness.
Things you did not know about me: I lived in a rented room my last two years of Highschool. I built my own airplane from scratch and flew it. I was awarded 19 patents during my career. I studied Conversational German at Marquette University and Conversational Japanese at Boise State University.
