William's Story
I was in the Class of 63 with Dan Hubbard, Terry Barber, Don DeMarse, et. al. After high school I went to Illinois State for one year. I went back to East St Louls to work to get money to go back to College. At the SIUE, East St Lous Center I met Janet Welle of Collinsville IL. She and I dated on and off through college. I entered the AF in 1968 after Graduation from SIU-Edwardsville. Jan and I got married in NOv 68. We then went to Lackland AFB for a few years and then I was moved across town to Randolph AFB. During that first 6 years I finished a Master's Degree in Psychology and then the AF selected me to get a PhD at Bowling Green State Univ. in BG, OH. When I left BGSU I was assigned to the faculty of the Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership at the AFA in 1977. I stayed at the AFA until I retired in 1989 (after 21 years in the AF. AF in 1989 I went to TRW for two years as the head of Executive Development. Next I went to Amoco for 8 1/2 years. When Amoco was sold to BP I consulted with a colleague in Amsterdam ofr a yeasr or so and then left to become the Assistant Dean in charge of the Executive MBA program and non-degree executive programs at Washington University in St. Louis. I left to take our half step back to to Colorado where Jan and I had raised two kids (boy and a girl) and had committed to come back and spend our days in Colorado. So, I went to Williams Co. in Tulsa, OK as their VP and Chief Learning Officer and then went back to Coloardo and worked for PDI (now PDI NinthHouse a fully owned subsidieary of Korn-Ferry). AFter 4 1/2 years with PDI, I joined one of my clients in Denver and recently retired from full-time work. YOu can find more about my work life on Linked In. Nothing dramatic but I have lived a blessed life. My bride and I have been together 44 years.
