William's Story
After finishing Lehigh University in 1973, I settled in Lynchburg, Virginia for a few years working on nuclear reactors. During that time, I met Mary Jo while we were both volunteering at the Lynchburg Fine Arts Center’s theatre division. We were married in October, 1975. Shortly afterward, we moved to Daytona, Florida, for about 12 years while I was working on gas turbine ship controls and flight simulators. We had a lot of fun boating, fishing, and crabbing on the Tomoka River on weekends. Mary Jo got her Computer Science Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and I got my Masters in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida. We moved to Huntsville Alabama where we were working at the same company and stayed about eight years. Mar...Expand for more
y Jo was a city girl but wanted to live in the country, so out to the country we went. Mary Jo and I had two dogs and four rabbits. I spent many a Saturday working at the North Alabama Railroad museum spiking track, repairing and keeping the equipment running. We moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida in 1997 with both of us working at the same company. Mary Jo was working in the software section and I was leading electrical design teams. Sadly, my Dad and Mary Jo both passed away in 2006. I met Babs in December 2007 and we were married in 2008. Babs has two grown sons, one in Massachusetts, and the other with his wife and our two grandchildren in Colorado. Babs was a tour directory for a few years and I’m still trying to catch up with her travel adventures.
