William's Story

Personal I married Michelle Rose in 1994. She is a fantastic woman who I love very much. In 1995 we had our first daughter Rosemarie. Rosie is a daddy's girl, has been since I gave her her first bottle in the hospital. She is very smart, frequenting the merit role and sometimes the honor role. In 2003 we had our second daughter Bridgette. Bridgette is almost a direct opposite of Rosie and is a mommy's girl. She is definitely more of a princess than Rosie, which was a "thank God" for Michelle. Both are unique in their own right, I wouldn't have it any other way. Work and education After high school I went to JCC for Engineering. Aside from a couple of small grants I funded myself for the first year. As luck would have it, one day I got a call from Manpower temp agency looking for a design engineer at MRC Bearings. Of course I took the job and worked there, with the exception of a layoff, for 13 years. It was a great place to work. During the two years that I was laid off from MRC, I worked as a design engineer for Bush Industries. All of my coworkers were getting cut because of small mistakes, so when an offer came up to work as an engineering tech back at MRC, I jumped ship. Back at...Expand for more
MRC I learned the roles of quality control, Application Engineering, Material Planning and Sales and Marketing. After a couple of years of that a position opened up back in design with the responsibility of implementing and programming a 3-D CAD system. This was a very rewarding position for me, taught me a lot about myself and what I was capable of and how to work as a team. This will be remembered as the most beneficial part of my career development. Both MRC and Bush (mostly MRC) were responsible for funding my education for the remainder of JCC and all through Houghton, where I received a BA in organizational management. In 2004 a position opened up at Cummins for a Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer. I once again jumped ship and took the biggest risk of my entire life. It has proven to be a wise choice. Working in the engineer capacity has introduced me to many cultures and allowed me to travel around the work. Within a couple of years I took another chance and threw my hat in the ring for the open position of department manager. I was granted the position which I still hold today. I have a great team of people working for me, very diverse, intelligent and hard working individuals.
