William (Bill)'s Story
02/27/21
Life is too short! Where did the time go?
Grew up in Roxbury! Oldest of 12. Went to 3 different High Schools! Played some basketball & baseball for Cathedral, Xaverian Bros. & Southie. Also played some baseball & semi-football in the Boston Park Leagues.
Lived in Quincy for 45 years but now live in Fort Myers, Florida. Owned a Golf store in Canton, MA. I retired in 2021. I've was featured on the T.V. show "Chronicle" & in the newspaper, "The Patriot Ledger" twice for "The Golf Club Factory" & once for "Sweet Jeanne's Tea & Coffee House" in Quincy Sq.
I got back into playing baseball in 2004 and I coached, played and managed 2 different age bracket teams in the "Boston Amateur Baseball League" (BABL). We won the championship in 2010 and we played our home games in Quincy.
I owned a small Retail/Repair Golf Shop in Canton Center. I've owned that since 2004. and until I retired.. Still active in golf. Enjoyed our annual weekend golf trip with my friends, usuall...Expand for more
y in August up North in NH, Maine, Cape Cod and Florida. Also love Cruises, (I've been on a few but I won one on a radio channel in 2004...1st time I ever won anything...LOL)
Also, love Florida, Bermuda, Wellfleet, MA., Mt. Washington Hotel & going out to dinner with my wife. Been out to California, played Pebble Beach, Hilton Head South Carolina Golf Courses & Las Vegas a few times. Worked for a company for 27 years in management/ Troubleshooting in South Boston, then in Charlestown. Handled up to 125 people at a time during vessel discharges.
Opened up a Tea & Coffee House in Quincy Center in 1997 with my wife. Rave reviews but now closed! Been married since 1981 to the same women...who spoils the heck out me and my son Sean! Said goodbye to Taxachusetts and moved to Florida, April 15th, 2021.
As I get older and older, I look back on my life all the time. (I guess that's what old people do) Life is funny. I've had some regrets...but also a lot of accomplishments.
