William's Story

Life After graduation from Alamogordo High in 1965, I started UNM and got my degree in psychology in 1969. That same year I married Cheryl Rowe and started graduate school in psychology. A year later, i was drafted into the Army and served for the required time, mostly at an induction center in Cincinnatti, Ohio. We returned to Albuquerque, where I resumed graduate school and I left again to complete my predoctoral internship at a maximum security hospital in Atascadero, California in 1976. We came back to NM, and I got my Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1978. I began my private practice a year later, and have been in private practice as a forensic psychologist in Albuquerque ever since. At the end of this bio is my semi-official professional bio. Cheryl and I have two children, Jeremy, born in 1973, and Jennifer, born in 1972. Jeremy is currently a web designer and Jennie is a lawyer. We are blessed that both live in Albuquerque, and Jennie and her husband, Steve Curtice, produced a beautiful grandson, Andre Liam in April of 2006. I consider myself to be a very lucky man as I enter my 60th year. I have had a supportive, smart and creative wife who has added immeasurably to my life. She is a great cook, and is herself a Ph.D. historian, and instructor. My children have both grown to be hard-working, loving adults and have good lives. I am enriched by many friends, co-workers and colleagues from all over the country. In all, I have had a great life. Below is my semi-official professional bio. William E.
