William's Story
After graduating in 1964 I spent 2 years in Atlanta attending Georgia Tech off and on accumulating 1 years credit. I then joined the Air Force in 1966 and spent 3 years and 10 months in electronic maintence working on auto pilot and compass systems. When I got out in 1970 I worked in construction for several years. I decided to go back to Tech School at Macon Area Vocational School studying electronics and Michelin Tire Corp hired me at the School in 1979 to work in their SC rubber making plant. I made Michelin my career and retired in 2001. I spent several years selling novelties at festivals, parades and fairs. That was so cool. I worked at festivals such as "The Governor's Frog Jump", the "Chitlen' Strut, "The Big PIG Jig", the "Lauren Hardy...Expand for more
Festival", the "Rattlesnake Roundup" and the "Terpentine Festival" just to name a few. I bought my house in Macon in 2008 and since it belonged to my Second MOM I dearly love it. I can feel her presence and it is a comforting feeling. I love my retirement and tinker around a little in the Stock Market.
I love to travel and like to visit casinos once in a while. I still like Disney World even though I have been there several times. I still want to go on a cruise. I have scuba dived and I think that is the next best thing to going into outer space (which I'll never make that) but the underwater world has so much color and wierd animal and plant life.
I hope I'll be able to travel around the world before I'm through. I love to meet new people.
