Then it looked back to the right and saw the big sunny beautiful world waiting for it to come and explore. I looked away for just a moment and when I looked back, it had flown off on its first big flight. Good luck flegling
Then it looked over to the left inside our big nest with the cat inside.
The fledgling flew up to the terrace partition and looked things over to the right.
"Look, I said. "here is one of the cats. Its sleeping off a heavy meal of fresh bird. You want to keep that door between you and the cat. Now go and practice your flying skills."
I told it there were 2 cats inside and it would not be safe. It did not believe me. "You just don't want to let me in because I'm an ugly starling."
It looked into our really big nest and asked to be let inside.
June 29, 2011, A little after 4 PM, a fledgling starling appeared on our 32nd floor terrace. It must have just left its nearby nest. Its unlikely to have flown so high on its first flight.
where it will be unloaded off the 747, placed on a barge that will move it to its final destination, the Intrepid air and space museum on Manhattan's west side Hudson piers.

Piggy back on a 747 approaching JFK, Atlantic Ocean in background. This was its second approach to the airport, the first being a flyover of the runway and then circling back to actually land.
Citi Field and the NY Mets on the right, Arthur Ashe Stadium and the US Open tennis matches on the left.
