William's Story

Life Married in 1974 in Beirut to a beautiful Palestinian who speaks Arabic, French, and English better than we do. Our two sons and daughter were born in Arabia. We moved to New Orleans in early 80's to settle. Our kids graduated from Ivy League schools and live in San Francisco, New York, and London. I Graduated from Valparaiso University in 1968 with a Civil Engineering degree and then worked in the Middle East and Africa in the oilfield for 16 years. Then owned a small business in New Orleans for 16 years. Since 2001 have been working for the New Orleans Water Department. We survived Katrina in August 2005 but almost got shot getting out of town the following day. We are back in New Orleans now helpi...Expand for more
ng to rebuild the city. Unfortunately it will never be the same. I love Savannah and would retire there except my wife wants to retire across the street from Macy's in New York City where our daughter lives. Bill Keck I always wanted to be a engineer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were correct. I play pool (billiards) to relax. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a car, a computer and cellphone, and AM radio to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My dad was my hero. I've learned what I am like because my kids are my mirror. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to my kids, then spend the rest on traveling, new homes and clothes.
