William's Story
Life
I graduated Olney High School in January 1963. I Immediately went to work at Molded Insulation Company at 335 East Price st Germantown, Philadelphia, Pa. in their electronics departments. I started out as a repair techncian on Radiosondes. (Later it was known as VIZ Electronics.) I advanced to be the supervisor in charge of the production of thermistors. I had sixteen women working for me. My girls made $1.10 to $1.40 per hour.
I Then went into auto mechanics. I passed a Federal mechanics course. when I was working as a Volkswagen Mechanic. I went to work at Fritz Riley's Atlantic in Richboro, Pa. From there I went to Brace and Sooby, Volvo, in Langhorne, Pa, as an auto mechanic. I went to get licensed in Life and Health insurance at Metropolitan Life. I was agent #009 in the Cheltenham, Philadelphia, branch.
I moved to the Florida, keys, where I worked at Cameron Construction. Next I went to Gaines,construction. I drove dump truck and Semis. I was their cheif Dynamiter. I blasted for the Holiday Inn site. I did more driving in Coral Springs, Florid...Expand for more
a. I then did some plumbing. I Went to to work at Coral Ridge Properties. I spent 21 years there. I worked up from bushhog to truck and equipment forman. From there I went into the company's construction division. I then advanced to the office where I worked with various programs, including AutoCad. I received the title of Planning Technician. I was there 21 years.
I now work for Cleveland Clinic Hospital, in Weston,Florida, in the Engineering department. I have been there 8 years. My title has been upgraded to "Maintenance Mechanic". I have always been able to get a job by saying, "I am willing to learn."

I have a dauhter, Stacey, 24 years old, and a son, Timothy 19. Stacey is the proud mother of our granddaughter, Kylie. She is three years old. I have been married, 32 years, to Carol Margaret Mackey. She holds a Masters Degree in English in Education. She has also done adjunct proffessor's work for Broward Community College.
I am now, a young, 61 years old. My past careers prove that this is the land of "milk and honey"!
