William's Story
Life
It's been a long road to this point in my life,a lot of bumps along the way. I'm teaching English at Hofstra U. and have published two books of poetry and fiction. Some of my life goals have been realized,but if I had to do it all over again,I would do it differently.I guess most people would say that.After SBU,I went to Calif.for grad.school.My years at SBU were the best of my life.Is that sad?I don't think so;it was a great life being young & insulated from the world.And being the House/Stage mgr.for the incredible rock concerts at SBU made life special.But I can't forget...Expand for more
my follow students;w/out you the college experience just would not have been the same.I miss those years and the place even though I live 1/2 mile from campus.Maybe walking around campus sometimes and going to campus functions only compound those feelings.But such is life.I'm not trying to relive them,just never forget them.It was a very special time in my life,and I'm happy I lived through them at SBU.Soon I'll be retiring & I'd like to move somewhere warm all year around for 6 months and live in Italy for the other 6 months.Sounds romantic,but I always was a romantic at heart.
