William's Story
I have been working as an union ironworker since 1979,living in san francisco until i found my boat,then i moved arround the bay,sausalito, ect. I finally settled down a little and stayed in the s.f.marina for many years having just moved to berkeley.My greatest pleasure was learning about others,and there is no better place than the city to meet people from all over the world.I enjoy live music,especially outside in the sunshine.I need no alcohol or anything else to get loose when i hear the blues.Iconsider the blues to be a blessing for me.So much of a peoples culture comes through in music its easier to understand and have compassion for folks when you know them a little.I believe our only chance is to treat others with respect and dignity and...Expand for more
thats how i try to live my life.I have learned that although at times it is diffecult and sometimes dangerous standing up for justice will change a persons life.To take a hit for rightousness and trusting the Lord to be there for you is powerful and once you realize He is there for you changes everything.Having lived through the exploratory seventies,the inebriated eighties,decodent nineties,and now the awful oughts,I can say honestly that I was maybe not paying attention enough to what our government was doing and i do now feel a little ripped off but i am surely paying attention now,and am active in my community politically and i love my country so much i would like to envoke the memory of martin luther king when i say no peace without justice
