William's Story

William's schools include Putnam Vocational Technical School. I attended Putnam Vocational Technical School,then know as Trade High School,from September of 1957 -June 1960.. Where i studied electronics,I also played in the high school band,after graduation I moved to Detroit Mi.in 1964... Where i join Motown as a road musician,and traveled with the Motown Revue.I played in the Motown band for about six months,then i became Marvin Gaye's musical director for another six months...I left detroit in 1965 and moved to Cleveland.Ohio,where i met up with Billy Stewart and joined his band as musical director...i recorded several songs with Billy including two of which i wrote... re i currently reside... In NYC i quickly got involved in the music scene,forming my own band Billy Nichols and The Soul Swingers... I also got involved in music theater,in the early 70's..and was very instrumental in the musical production of the play Two Gentlemen Of Verona..which went on to win a tony for best music in 1972... I also developed my writing skills,and penned a couple hit songs "Ask Me What You Want" for Millie Jackson..and "Do It 'Til You're Satisfied"by the BT Express...i also produced a few hip hop 12"s ..."The Adventures Of Super Rhymes"by Jimmy Spicer,.."Rhythm Rap Rock"by CountCoolOut.."Get Fresh Get Fresh"by Dougie Fresh and many other artists... I am currently writing and producing different artists..
