William's Story
Grade school thru 1st qtr highschool lived at 256 Lowell St Methuen Mass attended Stephen Barker grade school, Methuen Junior High and !st qtr freshmen as a Tenney High
Moved to 111 Shadow Lake road and attended Woodbury High School 61 to 63. Quit high school December 63 to help family get back on feet.
Enlisted in United States Marine Corps July of 64 and left for boot camp 9/14/64. February 65 thru December 1965 Marine Corps sent me to Electronics school in San Diego for 33 weeks ,a school year, to become a microwave frequency radio ralay technician. upon graduation december 65 I was assigned to HR CO 2ND MAR REG at Camp Legeune, NC. August of 1966 I volunteered ,mistake, for duty in beautiful Southeast Asia, Viet Nam and served with HQ CO 3RD MAR REG 2RD MAR DIV based out of Camp J.J. Carroll on route 9 just south of the DMZ. I arrived " in country in November of 1966 and departed to "the world land of the big PX" ,United States, in December of 1967. My last duty staion was Marine Corps Supply Activity 1100 South Broad Street Philadelphia, PA from January of 68 thru Friday the 13th of September 68 when I was honorably discharged from Marine Corps.
I then went to work for bell telephone in Philly but the starting pay wasn't enough to survive on. I moved back to Salem and went to work for Sande...Expand for more
rs Associates in Nahsua for a period of time. Then to BD spear Medical Systems where I became a computor systems repair technician. By 1972 my 1st marriage split and the ceilig in the computor financial world without paper kept me under 10k a year. So I went into the auto body repair business that my father had taught me as a child and have been in it ever since. I started out in South Lawrence at metropolitan auto body as a body man and progressed from there to shop foreman to assistant manager. From there I left and went to manage Genest Ford's body shop in Manchester NH stumble around on management until 1977 when I when to work for English Chevrolet. I stayed there until February of 1986 and moved to the Columbia MO area to create Perry Legend Collision Repair Center for a couple of multi-franchised dealers. In 1990 I bought in as the fourth partner and after 20 years in business bought out the last partner. This is now where home is after 22 years.
I met my wife of thirty five years in 1973 and we have three children, 5 grand children and 1 great grand child. Over the years of our marriage we've had numorous horses/dogs/cats/birds and so on for pets. We like cruising and vacationing in and out of the United States.
