William's Story
I was raised in the shadow of the Mayo Clinic. My father, a surgeon, pressed hard for me to go into medicine. But I wasn't much of science student. So, I became a lawyer instead.
At the close of my first quarter in law school, I was drafted into the Army. (It was the height of the war in Viet Nam). I volunteered for and became a medic in the Special Forces but was fortnunate to be sent to a unit focusing on Europe instead of SE Asia.

tion at Hamline University (Saint Paul, Minnesota) for two years. Then I moved back to Denver, where I've practiced law since 1978.
I retired in 2010, but two years later a close friend asked me to become a safety instructor in his safety and hazmat business. I accepted the invitation and spent ten great years working with him, until he was struck down by cancer.
Places I've traveled include: London; Stonehenge; Bavaria; Paris; Normandy; Bermuda; Rheims/Epernay; Rome; Florence; Siena; Pisa; Venice; Istanbul; Amsterdam; and Duluth.
