William's Story
Life
Dad was always being transferred by Marquette Cement to different plants so I was in and out of Franklin School and Central Jr. High several times. I did get to go to Central High all four years. After graduation from Central High, I attended Central Methodist University in Fayette Mo, playing football and baseball. I graduated in 1967 with a degree and new wife. I worked at the College a couple of years while Jan, my wife finished her degree. We left Fayette for teaching jobs in Warrenton, Missouri. In 1971, we returned to Cape. I went to work for Missouri Utilities and Jan after a year, started teaching at Jackson High School. In 1983, we left Cape as I went to work for CADP (Central Area Data Processing) and Jan went to work for Saint Mary's Academy in OFallon, Mo. In leaving Cape, we moved to Lake Saint Louis, Mo. We had the opportunity to acquire some land in the tiny farming community of Josephville, Mo. We built our retirement home in 1999. We are just north of I-70 and Lake Saint Louis between Wentzville and OFallon.
Jan and I are retired now....Expand for more
I retired from my consulting job with NISC (National Information Solutions Cooperative)(formerly CADP) and Jan retired as a teacher in the Alternate High School for the Saint Charles Public Schools. I retired as Deputy Fire Chief for the Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District at the end of 2009. I now work part-time for 1-800Board-Up, a fire restoration company as Director of Emergency Services. Jan and I operate our Family Sports Collectibles business and have expanded recently to include our eBay business store-Walnut Forest Collectibles. Our handle on eBay is Willyrock, a nickname Ralph Hirsch gave me in high school. We love to go to auctions and garage sales. We are active in The United Methodist Church at Wentzville. I volunteer for Sharing and Caring Food Bank and Jan quilts with several groups.
We have one son, Tom and are at home with our three labs and one cat. My Mom is still living and resides in Surprise, Arizona. We have purchased a home in Sun City West to spend the Winter there for now. If you are in either neighborhoods, look us up!
