William's Story
Life
Coming up on Memorial Day 2011, my son Brad graduates from Rensselaer Polytech with his degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm still working in the insurance industry and enjoying the job, now I can afford to spend a little on me and have some fun in life. Lost my father last month, age 87, he was a survivor of heart attack, stroke, thyroid cancer, carotid surgery, and more, time finally caught up with him. A member of the Greatest Generation and great role model.
Now in early 2012 my son is out on his own, got a job in his chosen field and is having great success as an engineer. I couldn't be prouder of him. Now it's time for me, time to look forward to the future.

t due to health concerns, casting about for something to occupy my time. Still active with Boy Scouts but the kids are getting too fast for me (or I'm really slowing down).
2018 has been both good and bad for me. On the plus side I now have a grandson, Greyson. I'm keeping busy with Scouts and tutoring elementary school kids for English and Math. Major negative was the unexpected death of my younger brother Jim, Stamford High class of 1972. Three other friends from my teen years in Maine also lost to cancer.
Big changes coming. My son and I are buying a house in Standish Maine. 4 bedrooms plus an in-laws suite. I left Maine in 1979, swore that I would move back someday. 40 minutes from my sister in Old Orchard, same from Portland. After the trials of the last 2 years, things are looking up.
