William's Story

Life Life is going to get interesting again!! Daughter is headed to China to teach English in Changsha for 5 months, and then plans to be home for less than 2 months before heading back to Liverpool, UK for a PhD in literature at the U. of L. Son seems to be headed back to OSU for his MS in some kind of engineering, with tuition and stipend, so no more payments, but still living at home at least for a few months, so the food bill is not going down that much!! After spine fusion surgery in Sept. of '08, and minor brain surgery late Aug. of '09, I may be able to get back to some field work! Meanwhile, I continue as the office everything. g, research, inventing, logistics, vendor contacts, liaison with the building owner and building manager, and do some project work. My wife is in year 30 of teaching at Groveport Madison, hoping to survive to 35 years. She has a former gym teacher as a principal who has no respect for the teachers, and no intention of getting any input form the teachers on issues related to discipline and attendance, and the kids are just dumb! We have no idea how they got the grades they got in previous years, because they are lucky to add 5 digit numbers together, let alone understand vectors or chemical symbols (not equations, just learning the darn symbols!!!)

The best way to add flavor to your Ramen noodles!
This is called 'broom corn' and is about 12 feet tall! Wedding decorations! :)
multi-color corn, plus the raspberry patch, and some jalapeno and habenero pepper plants.
All my peppers precisely sliced exactly as wide they were supposed to be. :)
Canned pepper rings via water bath method. the other 4 jars got messed up in the pressure cooker, so they were water boarded, and then frozen. :)
This ought to be enough jalapenos for all those beans. :)
I wish I had a real double boiler. At least these cheap pots for Harbor Freight get the job done without scorching the mash.
all done and ready for the freezer. Habeneros come next, but not for a couple weeks.
Holders assembled, but not glued, in hopes we can just press fit and not make them permanently stuck together.
one of my favorite coffee mugs! :)
'nuff said. :)
Checking the pieces and spacing before doing any finishing.
Linda putting the polyurethane finish on the stained discs.
Are they just fantastic?? Yeah, the bride and groom are pretty nice, but those mini-cupcake 'towers' are perfect! :)
She did it!!! First Dr. Yost in the family since the late 1800's!!! And he became a small university President! Oh, the things to look forward to!
All the birds in Westerville are now welcome to go die a slow death, choking on the red berries they were eating and 'dropping' on Michelle's car today. :(
Somewhere in this picture is my Great Uncle George. This was his artillery company or whatever size group it is called. I think it was taken before they shipped out to fight in WWI, at least it doesn't look like any battlef
