William's Story
I'm probably not going to attend the reunion, but I'm admittedly curious about how life has treated you all, so I figured I should provide some info myself...
I've been happily married to Susan Valentine, whom I met at OSU, for 35 years this April. We have 3 awesome kids and 4 delightful grandchildren so far. We live in Upper Arlington, a suburb of Columbus. We're avid beekeepers and bicyclists, and are very active in the state and local organizations. I work for the Battelle Center for Mathematical Medicine at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where I develop statistical genetics software. Our eldest works at Children's with me. Our middle son just moved his family back into town 6 months ago to take a senior attorney position at OCLC. They're living with us...Expand for more
until they find a house, so we're a bit crowded with 7 at home for the time being. Our daughter, the youngest, just moved her family back to UA this December to take advantage of the city schools, so we've pretty much got the whole clan nearby, which is truly a blessing.
A few decades ago I left a note at one of these reunion sites about bygones being bygones, and it bears repeating here. I can't say I had the best of times during high school, and I'm sure I wasn't a ray of sunshine myself either. I was pretty unhappy most of the time, and I clearly recall being a jerk about it to many of you. I apologize for that. We were just a bunch of kids trying to figure out how to grow up. So let's let bygones be bygones, and I wish you all long, happy and productive lives.
