William's Story
In 1985 I graduated from the University of California - San Francisco with a Doctorate in Pharmacy, completed residency at UC Davis and remained on staff with a practice focused in critical care their since then. I married in 1986 and was blessed with boy/girl twins in 1995 and another daughter 2 years later. Over my 30 years of practice, I have had to opportunity to be innovative in solving challenges in medicine that have had notable impacts across the US and the world. For this, I was recognized in 2008 with the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Best Practitioner Award and in 2015 nominated and selected as a Master in Critical Care. In 2022 I will be Chancellor of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. To date I have over 100 peer reviewed publications and book chapters including editor of a book on anticoagulation therapy. I have traveled and and been invited to present across the US and to several countries. In additional, I have received 4 fellow designations and 3 facul...Expand for more
ty appointments as a Full Clinical Professor with the UC San Francisco and Touro Schools of Pharmacy, and UC Davis School of Medicine. This year I was elected as one of 6 reagents to the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
For hobbies, I still play the trumpet on occasion, but spent my time watching my kids play sports (one was fortunate to win a national college championship in softball), snow skiing (one daughter went to CIF finals in downhill skiing) or outings with the boyscouts (my son got his Eagle rank and is now graduating with his Doctorate). The other interesting thing I have been doing is restoring my house that sits on 10 acres in El Dorado County built in 1852 in what was a small a small Gold Rush town. Celings, moldings, floors - the works. I had to fabricate much of the wood work. I'm also working on and enjoying a home in South Lake Tahoe. I enjoy cooking, but you may find me out moving dirt or tilling the field on one of my tractors when its time to do the dishes.
