William's Story

Life In 1966 went to Michigan where I met and married my wife, Pamela. We raised two sons who are now grown and on their own (mostly). We have two wonderful granddaughters. My wife says I've been pretty much useless since the first one (now 8 was born). We moved to Missouri in 1980 and have lived in the Kansas City area since then. I am a (retired) professional level application developer for Embarq (formerly part of Sprint). On October 12, 2008, my wife of 41 years passed away. I will miss her greatly, but my faith tells me that she's in a far ...Expand for more
better place and without the pain that defined the last several years of her life. Since Pamela's passing I have found some unexpected ways of maintaining my sanity: I volunteer at Fairmount Elementary School (2 and 1/2 days each week), I'm helping a lady from Liberia learn to read, and I'm singing in the Jacomo Chorale, a community choir, and I'm active in the Independence Knife & Fork Club (contact me if you're interested in any of these activities). On December 19, 2009 my youngest son, Aaron, married Debbie Shoemaker formerly of Belton, MO.
