Willie R. Denning
Could not stay retired. So after seven years I am now working part tilme as a Deputy Program Manager for a company called Salient Federal Solutions. Our primary mission is to vet and hire qualified instructors to train and tutor all aspects of aircraft maintenance for the Royal Saudi Air Force. Keeps my hand in and out from underfoot so Pat can clean around my chair now. I think she called friends who in turn made me the jpb offer that I could not refuse.
GS-13 Willie (Bill) Denning was the Chief of Training Operations in the 82 Training Group, Sheppard AFB TX. The operations section is responsible for resourcing four squadrons, three detachments and two operating locations. As the Chief of Operations I was responsible for 17 group training facilities, 82 aircraft (over $2B), trainers (180M), multiple type of engines, all group manpower needs, budget of $44M, environmental-hazmat programs, technology and developing a culture of technology across the training wing, Local Area Network, functional system administration & management, Information Management Data Systems/Core Automated Management Systems, Operations Risk Management, managed a $1M safety-toed boot program and Aerospace Ground Equipment maintenance pool supporting aircraft training for two training groups; with assets of over $12M.
Bill was born in Angier, North Carolina and graduated from Angier High School in 1958. He entered the USAF in 1959 and retired from active duty in 1979 from Myrtle Beach AFB, SC. He worked for an industrial electronics firm after retirement and entered civil service in 1981 and retired from federal civil service in May 2005.
