Johnny's Story
Life
After running out of money in the fall of 1972 and dropping out of Rockland Community College,
I joined the army in March of 1973. I finally left the army in March 1993 after an unplanned 20-year
career. I was stationed in Massachusetts, California, Alaska, Japan, Germany and Texas. In 1987

re adopted.) Now as I approach my 50th birthday, we already have 13 grandchildren with number 14
due in November. I finished my BA a few years ago at a small Texas University and I work
for a military contractor as a Technical trainer and course developer. I currently live in Texas but I do
occasionally get up to Nyack. I won't say that my life turned out as I planned, but I can't complain either.
