Rod's Story
let's see..... since 1978.... it's been such a blur :)
joined the United States Army in 1980, spent a couple years stationed in Monterrey California, got to go to Panama, thru the canal and across the Atlantic on a ship... did a couple years stationed in West Germany, traveled Europe quite a bit on their fantastic rail system. Drank some good French wine on the Eiffel tower & smoked some of Hollands finest in the tea houses of Amsterdam...!!! (...all while deterring communism & soviet aggression... i think.... :)
traveled around a bit after i left the military in '84, became a trucker and roamed up and down Americas interstates & back roads for awhile. moved back to DeWitt (...there's no place like home...there's no place like home...) in '87 and started a small trucking company in '89 named... what else... Rod Wilson Truckin'
have travel all 48 mainland states and the 9 lower providences of Ca...Expand for more
nada... have alot of miles and alot of great memories of our fine country.....
settled down a bit and bought a house just north of DeWitt in '96. have a couple beautiful young children, Jessie Ann, born in '00 and Robbie Jacob, born in '04. also have a beautiful 22 year old daughter named Rose-Anna and a 15 year old stepson Zac (...where did all these kids come from...) i enjoy hanging out with my kids and building them awesome stuff to play on ...built my daughter a fantastic playhouse & we're currently building a wooden monster semi truck for Robbie!!!
still trucking in '08, though i stay closer to home these days, mainly the great lakes region, hauling lumber & such out of the top of Michigan and building materials back into our state.
i see some '78 faces here & there, and I keep in touch with a couple who have moved away... had a great time at our 30th reunion.... everybody looked great!!!!
