Yolanda's Story

Hello Fellow Classmates of 1978 I was born and raised in Del Paso Heights. I lived there until 1977 when my family relocated to South Sacramento and I had to attend Elk Grove Senior High. However, my heart was still with the almighty Pacers. I was on the Jr Varsity Basketball team and Volleyball team. I was given the honor to attend Grants graduation to see my fellow classmates graduate. I was also given the honor to attend the award ceremony for sports achievements and actually received a couple. I played many sports from DPH Jr high through my Junior year at Grant and wore my letterman jacket so proudly. I joined the California Conservation Corps in August 1979 and married the father of our three children in December 1979. We raised our 3 children and divorced after 18 years. Our son made us proud grandparents however, CJ left to be with the angels from birth. Now, our youngest daughter is due with our second grandchild this July. My children, daughter 27 has her own daycare center, my son is a wildland firefighter and our youngest daughter works county security. We both remarried and remained very close. I remarried on September 11, 1998 and we divorced this year and remain good friends. He had no children being in the military 18 years couldn't understand children??? I have moved on and here I am enjoying life to the fullest. I am currently living in South Sacramento and in a relationship. I have a year old ...Expand for more
shepard mix. I have worked for the county of sacramento since 1999 and recently resigned due to medical issues. I enjoy drives along the coast especially the wooded areas. I enjoy camping, fishing and hiking still. I am blessed to still be in pretty good health even though I am no where skinny like I was back in high school I still continue this fun plus having a man to support this fun and relaxation keeps us going strong. The teachers I loved were Ms. Griffith my sixth grade teacher and Ms. Hunderlach my 9th grade teacher and Mr Foster my high school math teacher. Even though I was a shy person they gave me respect and had great control of their classroom. The wildest thing I did in high school was cut class with my boyfriend Ricky Roberts but got caught and was whooped and grounded for a month. Oh my, my first crush was Scott Schlarp he was a cute white boy in junior high, but had his eyes on another girl. Then there was John McCarthy who really never paid me no mind but I still thought the world about him. I think most friends would remember me as a very shy person but fun to be around. To be truly happy I would say to be with somebody who gives me there undivided attention, unconditional love and effection living in Lake County with a couple of dogs enjoying life. My biggest surprise I would have to say is that I am about to be 47 and hope to be a grandmother soon. What I would do differently - Nothing not a thing
