It's been a long, long long-long-long road to Northern Virginia. I live in Herndon, VA, a suburb of Washington DC, in house I share with three roommates. We're located next to a horse farm, so when I look out my window I can see the pasture. A half hour drive puts me in the heart of DC. I don't have pets or children of my own, though I'm not predisposed to spend the rest of my life without either. I have good friends and a large network of people here, so I'm content. I just celebrated my 30th birthday in November and was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of attending guests, for which I'm grateful. I've just recently gotten exclusive with someone, and it seems that we're moving into the realm of "serious" pretty quickly. I'm teaching part-time for the moment and working on some side projects until I move on to the next adventure. Most recently I've come back to the area (VA) after spending almost eight months in the mountains of Western Maryland working at a wilderness therapy program for at-risk boys ages 12 to 18. No, don't think summer camp, think "Holes" ... sort of. So, I lived in the woods 24 hours a day, five days a week, with a bunch of screwed up teenage boys who reminded me a lot of myself way back when.
