Scott's Story

Life I have been in the Air Force for 16 1/2 years this year. I am stationed at Aviano AB Italy, this place is a blast. I will be here till July 09. I have been married to the most beautiful woman 12 yrs in December, she has meant the world to me. I had a great time at my reunion July 07. I had a blast getting to see everyone again. I put on TSgt Sept 07 so that was also great. Oct 16 I had a massive heart attack. I had 210% blockage in the three arteries out of 300%. So not a fun thing to go through. I am doing better now. I still need to get two of the three arteries stinted so that there is no blockage. Which Mar 12 they will be fixing the other two. Not sure what brought this on, there was no warning. I love it here in Italy. I am going to be very sad when I have to leave here. I have made so many awesome friends that are Italian. A couple of those friends even own a winery, which the wife loves. They gave me an awesome gift when I put on TSgt. I am posting that picture. Well everyone take care of yourselves and your friends and family. You never know what and when something tragic can happen. Look at me, I am 40 and had a heart attack. Look out for each other and drop me a line sometime. Ciao!! School School seems like a life time ago. I appreciate all the things I learned and the friends that I made. Take care of each other and keep in touch. The town I live in here in Italy(Maniago) ...Expand for more
is not a whole lot bigger than Marion. So things are close and easy to get to by foot. That is a good thing since they like there festivals and we can walk down have a few beers and at times stumble home. People are very nice here and caring they will go out of there way to help you out. Just like Marion. College College was a waste of time and money for me. I really did not appreciate attending or playing baseball. I wish I could turn the clock back and be a little more proactive with my education. I have learned a lot over the years from all the things I have been through. Not all of us are made for school. Military I am in Italy and do not miss Korea at all. But if I had to give up a year in that hole of society it was worth it to be here with the family. This is a beautiful place and is everything you see in the movies. Everyone should be so lucky as to get to come over here once in their life. Just to get to live in the Boot of Europe and see so many places. It is kind of like travelling to some of the away games we had in Marion, except it is a lot more beautiful here. Right now the air is getting cold and the mountain tops are getting snow. At night the sky is cloud free and you can see a million stars. The really cool part is seeing the shooting stars going across the mountain tops. It has been a honor for me to serve. I can say that I will be happy when I retire with the things that I did.
