Yvon's Story

Life Following graduation in 1965, I attended John XXIII in Dorval. I never really got the hang of intermediate algebra and trigonometry. I then worked from October 1966 until August 1969 at the Sun Life Company. I left to undertake studies for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Washington. I studied at Mt. St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md and matriculated in Florida at Saint Vincent de Paul Seminary in 1973. I completed my theological studies and training at Mt. St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1977. I was ordained a priest of the catholic church on May 14, 1977 at Saint Matthew's cathedral in Washington D.C. Since ordination, I have served as parish priest in LaPlata, Bowie, Kensington, Poolesville and now...Expand for more
Piscataway -all are in the state of Maryland. I take some pride in having been able to realize a dream that was shared by the founding pastor of Resurrection Parish Father Durnan. I was founding pastor of Our lady of the Presentation in Poolesville. My dad Patrick Connolly continued to live in Lachine at the corner of 49th/Sherbrooke until his death in 2007. The neighborhood has not changed so much physically as culturally. BWHS is still there but not quite the same. Other changes have taken place that best not written about except to be prayed about. I am currently pastor of St. John the Baptist cathoic community in Silver Spring, Maryland. I commend any and all who take time to read this part of my profile to prayer.
