Yvonne's Story
Life
Rev. Yvonne A. Dyches is the Pastor and founder of Healing Waters Church, a multicultural Pentecostal ministry located in Roosevelt, NY. Rev. Dyches pastors the incarcerated, formerly incarcerated and their families, empowering them with the Word of Faith, Hope and purpose for their lives. Rev. Dyches ministers to the families from the process of sentencing to release.
Rev. Dyches has been involved in prison ministry since 1993 and has faithfully served as the Prison Ministry Coordinator for various churches throughout the NY Tri-State area. From 1996-2013 she coordinated efforts for the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree program which affords toys and much needed gifts to the children of the incarcerated during the Christmas season.
Rev. Dyches was ordained in 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the annual convocation of the Soul Saving Station (Harlem, NY) by Bishop Robert I. Winley under the watchful eye of her former pastor, Bishop Dr. Curtis S. Redmon (Worship Center International Jamaica, NY) and in 2010, Rev. Dyches was reaffirmed as Elder by Bishop Joseph N. Williams, her spiritual father & the Senior Pastor of Christ Church International Jamaica, NY.

ue her Religious studies at the Mason Kelly Washington Religious Training Institute in Freeport, NY. She received a certificate in Christian Counseling at Bethel Bible Institute in Jamaica, NY. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the College of New Rochelle with a concentration in Social Science. She hopes to complete her Master of Divinity (M. Div) thereafter.
Rev. Dyches has an extensive and diverse background which not only includes service in various correctional institutions on City, County, State, and Federal levels, but reaches the masses, sending the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the formerly incarcerated and their families who have returned to their home of origin both nationally and internationally. Rev. Dyches has faithfully served as Christian Minister at the GEO Queens Private Detention Facility in Springfield Gardens, Queens, NY until December 2013 and recently she completed her assignment at the Vernon C. Bain Center (NYC Dept. of Correction) Bronx, NY.
She is the mother of Derrik R. Jefferson, a graduate of Morgan State University, Baltimore MD. Rev. Dyches is a surrogate mother to many of her inmates and their families who affectionately know her as “Mom”. Rev. Dyches stands strong in her faith knowing that “With God all things are Possible “.
