Yvonne's Story

After high school and a very short first marriage in NYC, I moved to San Francisco & became a full time political activist in a Marxist-Leninist organization for about 12 years.
Got married in 1978 (still married to the same terrific guy and we have one son Phillip - now 15).
In 1986 we moved to Ukiah, Califorinia, and still live here except for a short unsuccessful move to the Seattle area (too damp, gray and dismal). My mom and dad moved to Ukiah in 1990; dad died in 1992. My sister Sharon and her family moved here in 1993; Sharon is now divorced and she has a 17-year old daughter who just started college...Expand for more

I am the practice manager for my husband's family practice in Ukiah and am active in my son's school (Site Council, sports, etc); on-and-off involved in our local eclectic Jewish community; love to do mosaics and needlework; we have a wonderful veggie & flower garden. Interested in genealogy. Politically active in a rather slip-shod way with environmental & social issues.
Health issues have occupied me for the past several years and I recently had major but successful back surgery from which I am still recuperating.
And, I never thought I'd say it, but it seems my most common phrase these days is "Will you please turn that music down!"
