Yvonne's Story
After graduation from Cabrini, I went to Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital for xray technology, completed the two year course and passed my registry. Then I went into nursing at EDH and graduated in 1972. I spent about 4 months at Mt. Carmel , on an Ortho unit before going to Detroit General. Spent 2 months in on orientation, two months on male medicine, then to the ER where I stayed.

From delivering babies(one in a car, one in the resuscitation room), to major trauma, life was challenging. I even got to fly several times in a helicopter, once with the Secret Service flying over President Regan's motorcade. On my off time, took guitar lesion, learned to ride a horse and several different sewing, knitting and crocheting projects.
Now I am retired, work in the library at Shrine, also part of the parish nurse group and ladies guild.
