Yvonne's Story

Hi y'all!!!! I sure miss the good times at EHS! I also attended St. Henry's for 8 years and Providence H.S. Many of my friends at St. Henry' s and PHS also knew me by my nickname, "Bonnie." Since I graduated from high school, I have attended many universities and colleges. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, attended Our Lady of the Lake University for a Bilingual Education certification, and recently received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Reading. For that degree, I took online courses with Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I also attended San Antonio College, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Our Lady of the Lake. have also taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. I recently submitted my application to teach for the Alamo Community College District as well. Despite being busy, I find time to sell Avon, paint, spoil my pets, and especially spoil my one and only grandson, Adrian, who just started first grade. I have studied dancing since very young, including ballet and flamenco. I actually danced flamenco and Mexican folkloricin shows at the Arneson River Theater, the Rodeo, and for different conventions. I did all this while I was a teacher, not a kid! Now I enjoy studying salsa and have just begun belly dancing classes! I have three daughters including twins who presently live in Boston. My older daughter lives in San Antonio. I enjoy studying different languages such as Italian and French. Of course, Spanish is still my favorite foreign language!
